Gordon Stiel, National Account Manager was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and grew up in Bridgewater, NJ. He attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Sales and Marketing w/Minor in German.
Out of college, he worked for a large retailer, WalMart Stores, Inc from 1991 to 2010. He helped manage Division 1 stores as well as their big growth vehicle, the WM Supercenter format, which saw explosive growth in the late 1990’s, and all the early 2000’s. He had multi-year assignments in various regions across the Carolinas with annual trips to Bentonville, AR for training and year-end meetings. From early 2010 to early 2011 Gordon did some consulting work for various smaller companies and then began with PFC Brakes in March 2011. Initially, he trained in Customer Service and then learned more about brake systems to work as an Inside Sales agent. By 2012 he took on the role of Inside/Outside Sales for all the Canadian Aftermarket, with a high concentration on the School Bus market. Today he continues to hold that role while adding working with both large US distribution partners and large fleet customers alike.
He stays quite busy with various serious hobbies in his free time. This includes competitive road cycling (750 competitions since completing college), skiing, hiking, camping, and perhaps most of all, all forms of fishing! Gordon and his wife Jocelyn built their current home in a neighborhood on a local river, and he enjoys the access to walk, kayak, and fish in his backyard.
When asked about his favorite part about working at PFC Gordon said, “Going from the largest company in the world (Walmart) to a smaller, family-owned manufacturer of the highest quality products has proven to be an ever-evolving and dynamic environment that I very much enjoy. I like the fact that I have immediate access to members of the Design and Engineering team to assist with real-time solutions for our wide customer base. Plus, I got to know the founder, Don Burgoon, while he was with us, and I feel that a bit of his passion for the product lives on in each of us who calls PFC Brakes home!”
