BITNILE.COM Grand Prix of Portland International Raceway.
A. J. Foyt Racing’s Santino Ferrucci took pole (breaking a ten-year hiatus). From the first turn Power showed his aggression, and took the lead, which he was never to lose.
Having dropped to sixty points behind championship leader Alex Palou, Power won for the third time this season, with Palou ten seconds behind.
There are three races remaining, and Power trails Palou by 54 points.
Next week the Milwaukee Mile takes place. Power is more familiar with this circuit style (with ten oval victories), and as it is a double-header the points tally will be critical. The Wisconsin circuit has 9-degree banking, meaning that drivers must control and limit their speed, giving good opportunities for overtaking.
