DESPITE SOME LATE RACE DRAMA PFC EQUIPPED SMITH WINS THE WINCHESTER 400
10.17.2021, 50th Lucas Oil Winchester 400, Winchester Speedway, IN
As is the case with many of the marquee Super Late Model races, Sunday’s Winchester 400 came down to a series of decisions. The biggest decision of the night came from race director Glenn Luckett, penalizing PFC Equipped Sammy Smith late in the race for avoidable contact with Jack Smith. At the time of the penalty there were only 14 cars left on the track and each of them were a lap down, sending Smith ahead of them. Smith was placed on the outside second row for the final restart and quickly retook the lead from Jake Garcia for a green-white-checkered finish.
