Pato O’Ward resisted the advances of championship leader Alex Palou to take victory at the Honda Indy 200, which took place at Mid-Ohio on Sunday, July 7. This was the debut of the new hybrid engine system, installed in all 27 cars, and the PFC Brakes carbon-carbon systems fitted to all IndyCars worked extremely well in the new configuration.

O’Ward won by just 0.4993 of a second over Palou, the closest street circuit finish this year.

Iowa Speedway will host a double-header, with six of the last eight races on circle tracks testing PFC Brakes due to the extended braking duration.
