Newgarden Wins 2017 IndyCar Championship with PFC Brakes!
In the first year of PFC Brakes proudly being the Official Brake Supplier of the Verizon IndyCar Series, driver Josef Newgarden in the No.2 IndyCar, takes home his very first IndyCar Championship Trophy for the 2017 season. He is the first American to with the Series crown since 2012, and earned the 15th season title for Team Penske. Driver Simon Pagenaud won the Sonoma finale event, finishing second in the point standings.
Adjusting well to Team Penske, Newgarden earned is first Penske podium in race 2, his first Penske victory in Race 3, and overall won four races, stood on the podium nine times, and the first driver younger than 30 to win a title since 2008.
"It's a crazy journey," Newgarden said. "Forgive me if my words aren't so great right now. I got definitaley emotinoal with the whole--just the whole ceremony process and seeing everyone there and how happy everyone was."
