Dean Martin & Jack Roush Junior Take Home Victory, Despite Rough Weather Conditions

Team KohR racing defeated the troublesome weather conditions in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge's Road America 120. With 40 minutes remaining in the race, there was unfortunately not enough time to complete full-course cautions to restart the race, and the event concluded.

This is the team's third Grand Sport (GS) class win of the 2017 season in the No.59 Ford Mustang, driven by Dean Martin and Jack Roush Jr.

"There is no real preparing for it," said Roush concerning the weather conditions. "You just have to go out there and take risks and make the best decisions you can in each moment and that's all you can do."

"All the credit goes to Jack. What an awesome drive in sketchy conditions," said Martin on the KohR Motorsport's Facebook page. "The hardest thing to do is be the leader in changing conditions. You have nobody to gauge off for grip."

Bimmerworld Takes the Pole & Finishes 6th Due To Rain-Shortened Race

BimmerWorld took the pole and dominated Saturday's IMSA Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge race at Road America in the Street Tuner (ST) class. However, the two-hour race came to a stop because of lightning, and never restarted. James Clay and Tyler Cooke drove in the lead for 23 out of 28 laps.

"We ran well in the wet and ran well in the dry," said Clay, "and the variable weather put us in odd situations where we were clearly in a position to be on that podium, if not the top step."

The race never restarted, and the pit cycle was never completed by a small portion of the field. The red flag was displayed before the officials made the decision to end the race early, leaving the No.84 OPTIMA Batteries BMW 328i in 6th place.
